Part of the larger 17,372-acre forest, Pickett State Park and Forest is a geologically fascinating area, with beautiful natural caverns and bridges as well as remnants from ancient Indian populations. Overnight stays are allowed at 40 campsites and 15 cabins of varying sizes, or at the group camp site which holds up to 144 individuals. In addition to observing natural formations at the park, other day activities include hiking along more than 12 miles of trails, fishing at Arch Lake and swimming in the summer. The park is about 13 miles north of Jamestown, near the Kentucky state border.
